About CIID

Systems that serve people.

We believe that high quality IDEA data ecosystems across states enable continuous improvement, robust compliance and accountability, and better outcomes for children with disabilities and their families.

The Need

Creating clarity by streamlining complexity.

Our team provides technical assistance to state education agencies and lead agencies to resolve the challenges associated with fragmented IDEA, SLDS and EDFacts data management practices and data systems architecture. When IDEA data are integrated across data systems, state education and lead agencies will be able to more efficiently complete federal data reporting and have higher quality IDEA data to inform decision-making for improved child, family, and educational outcomes.

Leadership

AEM Corporation leads this initiative, providing leadership and expertise in creating technologies and designs that are accessible at the highest standards.

The Partners

Our partnerships are central.

CIID collaborates closely with national centers—including DaSy, PTAC, CIFR, and the Rhonda Weiss Center for Accessible IDEA Data—to align efforts, avoid duplication, and amplify impact. Together, we coordinate TA, share tools, and ensure that states benefit from an integrated ecosystem of resources.

Through these strategies and partnerships, CIID equips states to move beyond compliance toward secure, sustainable, accessible data systems that improve outcomes from early intervention through school age."

The DaSy Center works with states to support IDEA early intervention and early childhood special education state programs in building high quality data systems and using data.
CIFR helps states improve the quality and use of their IDEA Part C and Part B fiscal data and implement the IDEA fiscal requirements.
The Rhonda Weiss Center for Accessible IDEA Data improves state capacity to report Part B and Part C Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) data in accessible formats.
